Ten years ago, people might still have thought of artificial intelligence (AI) as a laughing stock.
But you don’t realize that the term AI has become a cool trend and keyword in today’s business and industry.
While among young people, AI is associated with science fiction movies, such as the Matrix and Ex Machina. So, what is AI, actually?
In general, artificial intelligence is intelligence that humans have added to technological systems and then managed and developed in a scientific context, shaping it through existing intelligent scientific entities.
Therefore, in this article, we will take a deeper look at AI, including whether or not it will take over the world as many people fear.

Types of Artificial Intelligence
AI doesn’t only include machines that resemble humans. As a result, you need to be aware that some technologies might be classified as AI.
So there are basically three types of AI, and here they are.
1. Symbol-Manipulating AI
In most tests, the sort of AI utilized is one that manipulates symbols, thus it seems sense that this AI would do the same.
So the point of the experiment is that humans are reconstructed at a hierarchical and logical level.
Besides that, the information is processed from above. Then it works with human- or developer-readable symbols. so that the connection is abstract and the conclusion is logical.
2. Neural AI
In particular, artificial neural intelligence was very fashionable among computer scientists in the latter decade of the 1980s.
In neural AI, which is akin to a reconstructed brain, artificial neurons and their connections serve as the representation of knowledge rather than symbols.
Following this, the information is deconstructed into its component parts (neurons), which are then linked and organized into structures.
This technique is classified as a bottom-up method since it works from the bottom, as opposed to the symbol-manipulating AI, which works from the top.
Therefore, to gain experience and information, the nervous system must be taught and stimulated.
3. Neural Networks
A neural network is specifically organized into layers that are connected to each other via simulation. However, the topmost layer is the input layer, which acts like a sensor.
So that the sensor itself is the recipient of the information that will be processed and passed on to the system.
There are at least two systems, or more than 20 layers in a large system, that are hierarchically arranged.
The layers then send and classify information through the connection. At the very bottom is the output layer, which generally has the least number of artificial neurons.
In short, AI works on the foundations of machine learning. while machine learning itself is a system that builds intelligence from experience.
Therefore, this process allows the system to detect patterns and rules quickly and accurately.
Will AI Take Over the World?
Back in July 2017, the tech industry was on fire because of the news that Facebook had discontinued its experiment.
The experiment was stopped when a staff member noticed that their two AI programs were communicating with each other in a language of their own creation that humans could not understand.
So that only the two programs can understand the messages they send to each other.
Many people are concerned that artificial intelligence will outperform humans and cause harm to human beings.
A world-renowned scientist, Stephen Hawking, also has the same thought. The professor stated that he was afraid that AI would replace humans because AI is like a computer virus that can evolve and reproduce itself.
Therefore, there is a possibility that the AI developer could get out of control and wreak havoc.
Thus, we can predict that artificial intelligence will replace 38% of jobs in the US by 2030, as well as 30% in the UK and 21% in Japan.
